Shared Concepts Communications
"Conferencing designed with you in mind!"
Shared Concepts was founded in Tampa, Florida in 1994 and was one of the first companies to introduce the prepaid calling card (American FoneCard) to students attending small to medium-size colleges throughout the United States. Our patented platform offered these students some unique features and benefits that are still not being offered by the competition today.
In addition to managing the operation of the company, Shared Concepts' experienced professionals were also in demand to perform consulting services within the telecommunications industry, specializing in sales and marketing strategies. Clients included Operator Service Providers, Long Distance Carriers, Conference Calling Providers and several switched and switchless Aggregators.
During the deregulation era, Shared Concepts' management team was recruited by a group of joint venture partners to develop, structure and coordinate the opening of over 250 new 1+ long distance offices throughout the United States. These offices were strategically located in every major city and known as TMC Long Distance (TelaMarketing Communications).
Burl Eddy, founder and President of Shared Concepts, held several senior management positions within TMC and was eventually appointed President of the company. He held this position for several years before TMC was acquired by MCI.
Shared Concepts Communications, Inc. has since relocated. Its
corporate headquarters are now located at 325 Woodward Court, Legacy Place, Birmingham, Alabama 35242-6401.
